Today (Sep 25, 2013) is a memorable day for me. It is the Convocation day of my University. Our Honourable President His Excellency Shri. Pranab Mukherjee was the Chief guest of the event. As a Faculty and resident of the staff quarters, it was quite evident that University was gearing up for this grand gala event since past few weeks.
This Convocation is special for me, as I received my Ph.D, the highest academic degree today from our Honourable Vice Chancellor Madam Prof. Chandra Krishnamoorthy. My Ph.D viva was completed in May 2013 and I received the Provisional Certificate in a week time. Nevertheless, receiving the Degree was a special feeling.

I should thank a long list of people without whom I wouldn't have reached here. Foremost my parents immense love, affection and the persistence of their hope in me. Thank God for blessing me with such parents. Along with parents, my Younger brother Jena whose support and care was incomparable, as I see how brothers behave these days. He was catalystic to my shift to Bangalore from native town, which changed the playfield altogether in my life.
A Long list of Teachers whom I have remember in the Teacher's Day post. Their contributions are intangible. Thanks to those enthusiastic and charismatic teachers.
With respect to friend circle, again I am blessed with such caring friends. Right from the school days my true friends like Bala, Prem, Gopal Ram etc have helped me a lot for smoother school and college days. Surrounded by these, I never felt I have a physical Challenge. I am very proud of my friends.
Next in the list my colleagues at the Department; their support has always been encouraging and refreshing. I would like to thank all the teaching and non-teaching staff of my department for their encouragement. A special thanks to people at Ph.D section for their kindness towards me.
My mentor, Madam Prof. G. Aghila whose technical and ethical advices have helped me to devise the correct road map. She never showed any hierarchical treatment towards her scholars. Thanks a Ton to my Mentor.
Last but not the least, Leena and her unconditional Love which she is pouring on me, is the key factor - the catalyst - at times of hardships she takes the role of a friend and solves the problems...
A mention of my 3 months baby girl "Varshini" who might read this blog at a later point in time.
Friends, this post is not for self trumpeting. I sincerly wanted to make a note on all those supporting souls without whom this Ph.D wouldn't have become possible.
The current state of my mind tells me that this day is only a new beginning. Yet many more miles to go before I sleep.
